Health and Wellness Promotion for Student Athletes
Our Mission
"To empower student-athletes by offering comprehensive health and wellness programs that enhance their mental, physical, and emotional well-being. Our goal is to help student-athletes succeed on and off the field by offering flexible, customized support that builds resilience, improves performance, and promotes a healthy lifestyle."

There are a range of services offered through the health programs at IU Indianapolis.
Following IU Indianapolis's recent rebranding, the campus’s health and well-being services and programming are in need of a robust marketing plan. One of the campus’s goals is to “promote student wellness, safety, and mental well-being” - a goal now guiding students in this course to create a comprehensive health care marketing plan for a real product, service, or program. Students are given a semester to produce a real-life marketing plan informed by principles and concepts integral to health care marketing and the study of marketing as a whole.

The Project
Below you'll find links to along with descriptions of the different sections you'll encounter in this semester-long health care marketing project.
I believe that understanding the needs of student athletes when it comes to our health and wellness should be priority. this can be done by surveys, interviews, data analysis, and many more. the demand for these services will be shown in this eportfolio. The research provided will show how wellness programs tailored to student athetes needs will encourage better health, increased program performance and overall a better collegiate experience for those involved
College student-athletes deal with specific problems related to their physical and emotional well-being, such as fatigue, burnout, stress, and injury risks. Despite the availability of wellness resources such as mental health treatments and physical training, many athletes find it difficult to access them because of obstacles like stigma, lack of awareness, and scheduling issues. This promotion for student athlete health and wellness suggests extending mental health services that are specifically tailored to athletes, lowering the stigma associated with mental health in sports, enhancing accessibility to resources, and raising awareness of wellness programs in order to better support student-athlete well-being. These initiatives seek to improve athletes' general health in order to promote their success on the field and in the classroom.
This idea stems from my own struggles as i've been a D1 collegiate student athlete for three years now so i've been able to gage what are some needs and whats already going pretty smoothly.
The heart of this project lies in the health care marketing plan. This section delves into recommended strategies, PR plans, a budget, and ends with an evaluation of the plan proposed.
